Alpha Trainer Kaylee Phillips Soccer Speed Training
Alpha Trainer Kaylee Phillips will be running our “Alpha Soccer Explosive Speed Training Program” this summer!
Here are some fast facts about her:
◦ What’s your collegiate soccer background as a player?
“I played 4 years at Michigan State University and 1 year at Cornerstone University. I played semi professionally in the summers in Detroit, Lansing, Chicago, and traveled for trips to play in France and Brazil.”
◦ What’s your collegiate and club soccer background as a coach?
“I coached 5 years as an assistant coach at Cornerstone University, 1 season (and still going) with Midwest United, and will start my first year with Davenport University as an assistant coach in the fall.”
◦ As a soccer performance coach, what is your area of focus?
“As a soccer performance coach I work a lot on game related agility, change of direction, speed, and quickness while working to incorporate a ball in almost everything I do. Players need to be comfortable with a ball at their feet and out of the air, to be able to manipulate a ball with precision. And to be able to read and know the game well enough to be in the right places and use the technique we work on effectively. Players need to be very fit to play 90+ minutes well. I look to work on the all around soccer player, not necessarily one aspect.”
◦ Where do you currently train and what do you do at each?
“I train at Alpha Human Performance and The Loading Dock Gym. At Alpha I train athletes in sports like conditioning and weightlifting and I train speed, agility, and quickness at Alpha Speed School. At the Loading Dock Gym I train and work with adults in coaching barbell movements and general strength and conditioning. I am certified NASM -CPT and will have my USR Level 1 Certification as of June 11t. My soccer performance training biz is 925 Soccer Academy.”
