Athletic Movement is Human Movement
Athletic Movement is Human Movement
As we train our bodies to get faster, quicker, change directions better, and to become more explosive, the key is to not overthink it.
Overthinking creates moments of pause that actually slows us down from our natural reactions—-our human reactions—-and makes us second guess ourselves!
In our Alpha Speed School and whenever we train speed/agility, we work with all sorts of training tools.
But the biggest goal is that we train for movement by emphasizing:
* Staying on your power pads (forefoot) during running and jumping.
* Creation of a great first step whether it’s an open step or crossover step
* An explosively fast “first three steps”
* The ability to decelerate, stop, and re-accelerate
* Change of direction using vision vs. body positioning.
