The advantages of early am training

“You’re gonna walk out of here at 7am after 60 minutes of training, you’ll be glad that you now have your entire day ahead of you!”

That’s the message that I send to our early am training group. It’s primarily high school athletes who come rolling in each day between 5:50am and 5:55am, and we get some adult joiners as well.

Once we shake off the dust through warm up and mobility, it’s on. Whether it’s a Strength Day or Cross-Training Day at alpha, that early am group——the days first—-is one that gets going fast!

I believe that each of us has a unique inner barometer that regulates the best time for our bodies to train. It’s different for each individual. But I can attest to the benefits of early am training through years of practice and experience.

That early am training session sets the stage for the day, the “pallet” for the picture you are about to paint of your life that day. It’s a jump starter for you mentally as well, as those endorphins fire up set after set, rep after rep.

A good am training session may get you out of bed, but the physical training actually helps to fire up your nervous system and your muscles, getting you physically primed for the day.

I love the early am training session. I see what it has done for me and countless others. So set that alarm and give it a try. Rise up, train early, and watch how the day unfolds with the focus and the readiness to play the game of life.

You’ll be glad you did!
