Athletes Don’t Workout, They Train

I’ve always said that there’s a difference between training and working out. Athletes TRAIN.

Training means that we are getting ready, and/or preparing for something. And when you train you are getting ready for the competitive arena—the court, the field, the ice, the pool—wherever your competitive arena may be.

So when you train don’t just show up and check off a box. Don’t just log sets and reps. Don’t go through the motions.

ENGAGE in the training session. ATTACK each set and rep. Add weight to the bar. Push through the cone on that sprint. Train with great INTENTION.

Leave that training session knowing that you got BETTER, not that you just checked off a box on your “to do” list.
